Heath-Roland
(of Counsel) – Ms. Heath-Roland has practiced
law in all three branches of government in
New York State. She began her career as a
Senior Court Attorney at the New York Court
of Appeals and subsequently served as an Assistant
Attorney General in the NYS Department of
Law’s litigation unit, Associate Counsel to
the NYS Department of Economic Development,
and most recently as a Senior Counsel for
the New York State Assembly Speaker. Ms. Heath-Roland
has civil, criminal, and family law litigation
experience. Deeply committed to the well-being
of children and families, Ms. Heath-Roland
has represented children as a Law Guardian
in Family Court since November 2002. Ms. Heath-Roland
earned her law degree in 1987 from New York
University School of Law where she was awarded
the prestigious Root-Tilden-Snow Scholarship
based on her academic excellence and commitment
to public service. Ms. Heath-Roland serves
on a number of not-for-profit boards and committees,
including the Albany Boys and Girls Club,
Inc., the Third Judicial District Gender Fairness
Committee, the NYS Bar Association’s Special
Committee on Youth Outreach, and as co-chair
of the Diversity Committee of the Women’s
Bar Association of the State of New York.
