Clemente J. Parente - Mr. Parente, a member of the Firm, focuses his practice in the areas of litigation, construction and surety law, real estate and creditor rights litigation. Mr. Parente’s construction law experience includes the negotiation and review of construction and architect/owner agreements for industrial and commercial projects, professional offices, shopping centers and bank facilities. Further, Mr. Parente has represented clients in extensive litigation including failure to perform and breach of contract, lien law and payment bond claims, claims for delay, differing site conditions and acceleration. He has experience in banking and creditor’s rights litigation, having represented a number of financial institutions in actions involving the priority of security interests, preferences, fraudulent conveyance and other avoidance actions. Mr. Parente has litigated matters before federal and state courts, including jury and non-jury trials, arbitration and mediation panels and administrative agencies. He received his law degree from Albany Law School and his bachelor’s degree from Alfred University. He also served as member of the Albany County Ethics Commission from 1993-1994 and as counsel to the Albany County Industrial Development Agency from 1996-1997. Reported Cases: Rochester Funds Municipals, et al. v. Amsterdam Municipal Leasing Corporation, et al., 296 AD2d 785 (2002).
