Insurance & Financial Services
The Firm engages
in an extensive, general practice in the areas
of banking, insurance and financial services.
The Firm advises and represents clients on
transactional, litigation and regulatory matters.
A wide variety of industry segments are represented,
including commercial banks and their affiliates,
life insurance companies, property and casualty
insurance companies, surety companies, savings
banks, savings and loan associations, licensed
mortgage lenders, credit unions, securities
firms and underwriters, insurance companies
and finance and leasing companies, as well
as the other segments of the financial services
industry.
The Firm’s banking
practice includes extensive commercial and
residential transactional work, representation
of creditors and debtors in workouts, restructurings
and bankruptcy, formation of banks and other
financial service providers, and representation
on regulatory matters with appearances before
various federal, state and local regulatory
agencies. Several Firm members have represented
insurance companies in their licensing and
other regulatory matters before the New York
State Insurance Department. The Firm also
handles a wide array of banking and insurance
litigation, including questions regarding
the Uniform Commercial Code, lender liability,
preferences, fraudulent transfers and other
avoidance actions.
Many of the
Firm's clients are based outside New York's
Capital Region. The technological advances
of the past decade, coupled with lower general
office overhead found in upstate New York,
have enabled Crane, Parente, & Cherubin to deliver quality legal services on
an extremely cost-effective basis.
